Who is ‘Cee’ Lynn?
I mean, it definitely seems like a peculiar name to give a child. My parents were tough, but they weren’t cruel enough to name me Cee Lynn. No, the full name they thought was fitting for a child of the 90s was Courtney Lynn. And, rather obviously, half of the inspiration behind the name of this blog. The other half, I should add, comes from the movie title See Spot Run (which is rather fitting given my love of pups).
The etymology of my blog name aside (because yes, part of me thinks you wish to hear about it), I’m just a lady bookworm who was born and raised in Western, Pennsylvania. If you want to be more specific, I’m still relatively close to the city of Pittsburgh, which I have grown to love for it’s cultural district and variety of locally owned restaurants (we are more than just steel producers these days, you know ;)).
I’m a proud doggie Mama, recipe follower (I’m terrible with experimentation, unlike my ‘mad scientist’ of a husband when he’s in the kitchen), and strike a somewhat even balance between loving coffee & white wine.
What is the “point” of this blog?
The short answer? I decided to start to blog in order to better improve my writing & as a way of disciplining myself to write more often. Truthfully, I am total rubbish at sticking to a firm writing schedule, so I had hoped this would force me to write on a regular basis. Not only that, but I thought that a blog would be a good outlet for me to talk about one of my favorite things in life…books.
What genres can you expect to find here?
Quite a lot, actually. Like most things in my life, I am rather eclectic (that’s putting it ‘politely…’ truthfully, I’m a hot mess). But I do confess that fantasy/supernatural mingled with historical fiction or fiction revolving around a certain era is most intriguing to me. Also, considering I’m writing a dystopian-esque novel, I am into that genre. Contemporary literature, Victorian Era works, and Early 20th Century American Lit have my heart as well. I’m also intrigued by books that tackle issues of war & immigration (that’s the former English Lit major in me calling).
Thanks for taking the time to check out my blog! Feel free to send me an e-mail or connect with me on social media if you have any questions or just want to chat. I love meeting new people over books! 🙂
